Job summary
We are looking for a team player who is great at paperwork (although we work in the cloud) and people! The rest you can learn.
What’s the Job?
Helping with the day to day admin of an accounting and consulting company, using computer programmes like QuickBooks and Jet Pack, don’t worry though support and full training will be given at every step of the way. We want someone who wants to grow and move up through the company at their pace. There is plenty of opportunities to get more skills and you set your own limit.
What this job isn’t – there is no filing, everything is digital, there is no coffee making – everyone gets their own, ( Yes coffee and soft drinks are supplied though). We aren’t your normal accountants, we don’t wear suits and dress is smart but casual.
Where are we?
You would be located in Felcourt East Grinstead and due to the location you would ideally need to drive, the good news is there’s loads of parking right next to the office. Everyone works in the same office, no managers in cubicles, we find that people learn more and can get help easier this way. Our office is modern on lovely grounds, ideal in the summer. We also have an office in Brighton and London.
Who are we?
Merranti has been going for over 10 years and is run by Jason Fudge and Stephen Watts, we are a small team of 10 and everyone has a part in helping the company grow. We like our events (COVID allowing!) We don’t work Christmas and but we do like Kebab Thursday – which isn’t always on Thursdays or even a kebab!
Do we offer training?
If you want to learn more then that’s great, we are happy to support staff in their training for bookkeeping, accounts and software. The more the team knows the better the business. We want someone who wants to grow and move up through the company at their pace. There is plenty of opportunities to get more skills and you set your own limit.
The Kickstarter scheme is this just for 6 months?
No. Ideally we would hope after 6 months you would decide to stay, if not we will help you get all the training certificates you can and assist you in finding your next journey.
COVID?
As we have worked in the cloud for ten years, we can work from home anyway and did so before the lockdowns. At the moment everyone is working from home to keep safe however we have a great online chat and video system and will supply the Tech you need for this. Even after COVID has gone we will still work 3 days in the office and 2 days at home ( if you want) as we find the team prefers this.
Skills and experience required
– Any accounts experience a bonus but not essential
– Reasonable Maths and English
– Good with MS Office and computers
– Team player
Employability support
Your mentor will be Sophie Webb, who will make sure you get what you need, however, you will interact with everyone who will allow time for you to learn what they do so you can gauge where you want to go. You will have the opportunity to learn and get certified for a number of software products from Quick Books, Xero, MS Office and many more. There will be basic bookkeeping lessons, or more if you’re already experienced.
