Property VAT can be very complicated, should it be 0% rated, 5 or 20%. Can you claim it back?
There is a minefield of rules in regards to property, for example if you purchase a commercial building which is subject to VAT and not a going concern you will pay 20% VAT however you can claim it back, did you know though that you pay VAT on the stamp element that can’t claim back.
Property Development for new build is zero rated, however white goods, certain motors, buildings 5 metres further away from building are not.
